"There are two circles in this townland slightly raised about 2 feet above the level of the ground. The most westward is about 1 chain diameter the other about 2. There is a fort, now converted into a garden, near the larger circle. In the centre of the large circle is a small eminence on which stands the remains of a druid's altar. About 10 chains distant is another of those altars. Some say that these circles are burying grounds, but from the hill being nothing more than a huge rock appearing in many places above the surface, and the greatest depth of soil only 8 inches, completely does away the assertion."
