the town of Hoiste
Hoiste — personal name and surname (< Anglo-Norman Hodge).
This townland was once called Baile Hoiste Mór, 'the big Baile Hoiste', and was adjacent to bf Baile Hoiste Beag, 'the small Baile Hoiste', par. Tullaghorton, q.v.; today the townland of Baile an Chnocáin/Ballyknockane lies between them.
