"Pinkman Coradh-scathfaidh = Scoffey’s weir. The Down Survey writes the name Correscaffe and Corascaffe. The townland lies along the River Eslin, in the Parish of Bornacoola. There is a bridge there, now called Corrascoffey Bridge. Formerly there were two eel weirs at this place."

The final vowel in Corra may be part of the article or an epenthetic vowel. Father Connellan proposes Corr-ros Cobhthaigh(281)."
