"Pinkman: Baile-an-Mhuing Mong, which is here made a masculine noun, means, primarily, long hair, the mane of a horse; but, in a transferred sense, it is often applied to long mane-like grass, and to places that grow this – such as a morass, a swamp, undrained land. Ballinwing townland, in Kiltoghert Parish, lies on the West of Sheemore Hill and townland. There were three forts in this place. "
