Tá foirm uatha den cháilitheoir le sonrú sna tagairtí is luaithe dá dtagann anuas chugainn .i. 1607 ‘Ballinloigge’, ‘Ballinloige’ < Baile an Loig “the town of the hollow” ach is í foirm an iolra atá le feiscint go soiléir i dtromlach mór na fianaise. Cf. an mionainm Achadh na gCros/na Croise faoi bf Knockanowl (#28633).
