the church of Cluain Hoibeaird
Cluain Hoibeaird — the pasture of Hoibeard (< Hubert na nAngla-Normannach)Suite idir portach agus abhainn (féach Ó Cearbhaill, Logainmneacha na hÉireann III). Measaimid nach bhfuil na foirmeacha gaolmhara in -n iontaofa (1655, 1660c, 1667) — tá an t-ainm brúite isteach ar léarscáil DS de bharr easpa spáis agus tá cuma mhínádúrtha ar an -n mór deiridh ann.
Pé ar domhan de, bhí an t-ainm fada tite as úsáid faoin 19ú haois agus úsáidtear Kyle go háitiúil (cf. Kyle Bridge SO i ndeisceart an bhaile fearainn). Tabhair faoi deara an défhoghar san fhocal cill anseo (féach Ó Crualaoich, Logainmneacha na hÉireann IV s.n. Kyle).
