1598	Brinemikane?? A now obsolete name for the Bray Head district of Valentia Island (see its location on the Dariry map). An Seabhac (‘Uí Ráthach’, p. 23) points out that the Irish Ceann Breagha was commonly pronounced ‘ceann bry ’. He suggests that ‘Brigh na Meacan’ may have been the Irish original. Ibid., n. 168.
