the wood of the height
Suite mar a dtosaíonn an talamh ar ardú in iarthar bf Baile Uí Chearúill (#28480) i dtreo Church Wood SO 25ʺ. Tá an choill úd suite ar chnoc (120m) i dtuaisceart bf Baile Briotáis (#28286) agus is cosúil gurbh í a thug ainm don áit seo. Dhealródh sé gurb é an teampall Caitliceach a thug ainm Béarla don choill ar ais ní ba dhéanaí (‘Saint John’s Catholic Church 1830–1835’ www.archaeology.ie; 1905 ‘no tombstones older than than the end of the eighteenth century’ JKAS IV).

Killinard
The modern Catholic church of the district is at Killinard, where a fine edifice replaced an humbler building some fifty years ago. In the burial-ground adjoining, a former Pastor lies interred, and over his grave appears the following inscription, '...Died 1804'; Within the church, there is a mural table over the grave of Rev. John Dunne, of whom it states that: 'he was ordained in 1806 ... was P.P. of Kilcock and subsequently of Killinard and Emo. died 1832'.
