Maoilir — ainm pearsanta (< Meyler na nAngla-Normannach)Tá baile fearainn den ainm céanna i gCill Chuairsí i gCo. Uíbh Fhailí (#41977). Cf. Leabhar Mór na nGenealach V 464–66 mar a luaitear a lán Sean-Ghall den ainm sin.
Mionainmneacha ar an léarscáil:
- Léirítear Kylenahorn SO < Coill na hEorna (?) “the wood of the barley” i ndeisceart bf Baile Mhic Mhaoilir.
- In oirthear an bhaile fearainn is ann fós do smut den choill Curraghatheskin Wood SO < Currach an tSeiscinn “the wet land of the sedgeland, marsh”.
