See Annála Ríocht Éireann s.a. 1244: "...do chóidhseat co hAth na Cuirre forsin nGeircthigh ... gur ro scaoilseat teach Sepel Eóin Baiste do bhaoí ind imeal ind átha..." (“...they went to Ath na Cuirre on the Yellow River ... and destroyed the chapel of John the Baptist which was at the edge of the ford...”). The Yellow River/An Gheirgthigh enters the lake at the townland of Tuaim Luascáin/Tomloskan
