Tobar Athairne or the Well of St. Arney
"In the Townland of Enniskeen is to be seen a well called Tobar Athairne or the Well of St. Arney, who is the Patron of the Parish. I hope that this well is marked on the Plan. Is there any record of this Athairne? The best anglicised spelling of the name of this well is Toberarney to agree with Killarney, a Church named from the same Saint, or else from a Saint of the same name.
Athairne athair na h-aoi,
Dallán forgaill an priomh-shaoi.
- Looee O'Clery." [Ó Donnabháin 9/7/1836]
