1932 The present Kilmagner and Kilbarry are evidently twin divisions of one townland ... Evidently the name giving cill is the church ruin now known as Ballyclough. This stands close to the boundaries (near its eastern end) of the two present townlands. Power 70.29 In ainneoin go luaitear Ballycloghie (CPR 194-a, anno 1610) le Keillynemagnearie (I 53.4), ní cinnte, fiú amháin, gur cill is céad eilimint don dá ainm thuas, gan trácht ar a thabhairt le fios gurbh í an chill chéanna a bhí iontu ó thús. Tuairim is ceithre mhíle slí ó dheas ón áit seo atá Ballinvarrig (East, -West), (bar. Barrymore, p. Gortroe, SO 44,-5) agus áirítear 123 duine dar shloinne Barry sa bhar. chéanna sin, (ar léi atá I teorantach), q.v. Cen. 239 sa bhliain 1659.
